Introduction

Higher  Secondary  School  Association, Nepal  (HISSAN)  is  an  umbrella organization of private higher  secondary schools/colleges  across  the  country  . Its executive  committee of Kathmandu district has been organizing and initiating a  number  of  academic  and  scholarly programs since its inception. In order to continue this trend, it has just published its  fi rst  bulletin  "EDUCATION"  to  gear the educati anal process to achieve the educational goals guided by the national curriculum.

It has been obvious that private schools and  colleges  have  made  substantial contribution  to  the modern  education of Nepal. There is immense faith of the public  in  these  institutions  in  terms of imparting  quality,  relevant,  and  skill and  value  oriented  education.  This is  the  great  responsibility  as  well  as opportunity  and  challenges  which  is taken seriously by these private sectors. Present efforts  alone are not sufficient to  address  the  emerging  challenges and  issues  of  the  present  educati on. Therefore this bulletin is a step forward to  create  a  forum  to  discuss  the problems, explore  innovati ve ways and share the ideas between the concerned all.  This  journal  further  proves  that we  are  committed  to professional  and institutional  development,  curricular as  well  as  extracurricular  activities, students’  welfare  services  and  even economic  contribution to the nation.
